Fire danger is high in the Almanor Ranger District. Backcountry campfires are prohibited forest-wide through December 1, 2026, though fires may be allowed in designated Wilderness Areas with a valid California Campfire Permit. Campfires are permitted in designated Fire Safe Recreation Sites with a permit, and portable stoves using pressurized liquid fuel are also allowed with a permit. Forest-wide, explosives, fireworks, and torch operations with open flame are prohibited. Always confirm current conditions and permit requirements before your trip.
