Fire danger is high in the Eagle Lake Ranger District. Backcountry campfires are prohibited forest-wide through December 1, 2026, though campfires are allowed in designated recreation sites with a valid California Campfire Permit. Portable stoves using pressurized liquid fuel are also permitted with a permit. Check specific campground rules before your trip, as conditions can change.
