San Jacinto Ranger District Fire Danger & Restrictions

High fire danger today.

Fire danger is high in the San Jacinto Ranger District. Campfires are prohibited in the backcountry but allowed in designated campgrounds and picnic areas with Forest Service provided rings or BBQs. Pressurized liquid fuel stoves are permitted for California Campfire Permit holders. Always check current conditions and specific area regulations before your visit.

Exceptions

  • California Campfire Permit holders may use portable campfire ring/pit, stove, or lantern at least 5 feet from flammable materials, burning only gas, kerosene, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel with shut-off valve
  • Resort/organizational camp special use authorization holders
  • Recreational residence special use authorization holders may have charcoal BBQ
