Fire danger is very high around Hume Lake Ranger District. Campfires are allowed only in designated campground areas, and backcountry campfires are prohibited except in designated spots. Propane stoves and lanterns are permitted with a California Campfire Permit, but must have a shut-off valve and be at least five feet from flammable materials. Welding and grinding with open flames are prohibited except in designated areas. Always check current conditions and specific restrictions for your exact location before your trip.

Propane stoves and lanterns allowed with valid California Campfire Permit; must have shut-off valve and be 5+ feet from flammable materials.
