Fire danger is very high in the Truckee Ranger District. Campfires are allowed in Forest Service campgrounds and designated dispersed sites, but prohibited in backcountry restricted use areas. Target shooting is restricted to the Sierra Valley Shooting Range, and welding or torch use is prohibited forest-wide. Check specific campground rules and the latest weather before your trip. Conditions can change quickly.
