Fire danger is currently moderate, but check for any specific campfire or smoking restrictions before your trip. An area north and adjacent to FS Trail 001 around Railroad Tunnel is closed for safety. Always confirm the latest conditions and closures with the ranger district before heading out.

Conditions

  • Closure applies to area immediately north and adjacent to FS Trail 001 from west fence to east fence of Railroad Tunnel
  • Includes area between fences and uphill of trail for 300 yards encompassing tunnel
  • Effective May 8, 2026 through October 30, 2026

Exceptions

  • Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 specifically exempting them from this Order
  • Federal, State, or Local Officers in performance of official duty
  • Members of organized rescue or firefighting force in performance of official duty
  • FS Trail 001 remains open
