Idaho Panhandle National Forests Fire Danger & Restrictions
Active fires include the Upper Smith Fire (4,848 acres, growing), Silver Fire (2,593 acres, growing but more contained), and Parker Lake Fire (1,531 acres, growing) in the Bonners Ferry area, and the Dudley Fire (800 acres, growing but more contained) in the Coeur d'Alene River and St. Joe areas. Fire danger is high in the Coeur d'Alene River district, with campfires prohibited in the Canfield Mountain area. Some trails and roads are closed due to fire activity, so check specific ranger district closures and current fire restrictions before your trip.
