Fire danger is high on the Mount Taylor Ranger District. Campfires are prohibited in backcountry and dispersed camping areas. Campfires may be allowed in developed campgrounds with agency-built fire rings, but confirm current rules before your trip. Propane and LPG stoves are permitted.

- Must have on/off switches
- Must be used in areas cleared of flammable materials within three feet
