Fire danger is high in the Heppner Ranger District. All campfires and solid-fuel fires are prohibited in both backcountry and developed campgrounds. Propane and gas stoves are allowed if they have an on/off switch and at least a 3-foot clearance from vegetation. Explosives, fireworks, and torches are also prohibited. Always check the latest weather and specific site regulations before your trip.
