Fire danger is high in the North Umpqua Ranger District. Campfires are prohibited in backcountry and dispersed areas, but allowed in Forest Service-constructed fire rings within designated recreation sites. Pressurized fuel stoves with a three-foot clearance are permitted. Check the specific regulations for your planned location before you go.

- Cook stoves fueled by gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel/propane with on/off switch and 3-foot clearance
- Campfires in Mt. Thielsen, Boulder Creek, and Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness areas are not prohibited
- Propane/pressurized fuel stoves with on/off switch allowed if flammable vegetation cleared 3 feet on all sides
