Fire danger is high in the Detroit Ranger District. Backcountry campfires are prohibited, but campfires may be allowed in developed campgrounds and designated recreation sites. Always check specific campground rules before you go. Portable gas stoves and propane lanterns are permitted if cleared 3 feet from vegetation.
