Fire danger is high in the Blackrock Ranger District. Campfires are prohibited in backcountry and dispersed areas. Campfires are allowed in permanent fire pits at developed campgrounds. Propane and gas stoves are permitted in cleared areas with shutoff capability. Always check the latest weather and specific campground rules before your trip.

- Exceptions: liquid/gas device in 3-ft cleared area, or fully enclosed metal stove with 5-ft chimney and ¼-inch mesh screen in 10-ft cleared area

Campground campfiresAllowed
Campfires allowed in permanent fire pits at developed campgrounds.
Conditions
- Only in permanent metal or concrete fire pit or grate installed and maintained by USFS at developed recreation sites
Propane fuel and camp stovesRestricted
Propane and gas stoves allowed in cleared areas with shutoff capability.
Conditions
- Device must be solely fueled by liquid or gas with on/off capability
- Must be used in area barren or cleared of all flammable materials within 3 feet
Welding and grindingRestricted
Welding and torch work allowed with fire extinguisher and cleared area.
Conditions
- Cleared area of at least 10 feet in diameter required
- Chemical pressurized fire extinguisher (minimum 8 oz, Class 2A rating) must be kept with operator

Explosives prohibited forest-wide.
Exceptions
- Federal, State, Local Officers and organized rescue/firefighting services in official duty
