Fire danger is high in the Goosenest Ranger District. Campfires are prohibited in backcountry and wilderness areas but allowed in designated campgrounds and day-use areas. Propane stoves are permitted outside recreation sites with a California Campfire Permit and a cleared area at least five feet from flammable materials. Fireworks, explosives, and welding with open flames are prohibited. Always check current conditions and specific site regulations before your visit.
