Fire danger is very high in the Mt. Pinos Ranger District. Campfires are allowed only at designated sites, and propane stoves require a valid campfire permit. Target shooting is prohibited except at authorized ranges and for hunting. Always check current conditions and specific site regulations before your visit.

  • Valid CA Campfire Permit holders may use portable lanterns or stoves with gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel
  • Federal/State/local officers and organized rescue/fire-fighting forces in official duty

Campfires allowed at designated campfire use sites including Aliso Park, Ballinger, Caballo, Campo Alto, Chuchupate, Chula Vista, Dutchman, Halfmoon, Kings, Marian, McGill, Mt. Pinos, Pine Springs, Reyes Creek, Toad Springs, and Valle Vista.
