Los Padres National Forest Fire Danger & Restrictions
The Plaskett fire is 29,862 acres and 61% contained, while the Timber fire is 25,380 acres and 27% contained; both are growing but becoming more contained. Fire danger is very high across the forest, and backcountry campfires are prohibited forest-wide except at designated sites. Wood and charcoal campfires may be restricted in some front country areas, so check specific location rules before you go. Propane and pressurized stoves are allowed with a valid California Campfire Permit.
