Fire danger is low in the Santa Barbara Ranger District. Wood and charcoal campfires are prohibited in front country areas, but allowed at many designated campgrounds and backcountry sites. Always check specific campground rules before you go. Portable stoves are allowed with a valid California Campfire Permit. Target shooting is prohibited except at authorized ranges and for lawful hunting.

Campfires allowed at designated campfire use sites including Falls, Fremont, Live Oak, Los Prietos, Lower Oso, Paradise, Red Rock, Sage Hill, Upper Oso, White Rock, Lower Caliente, P-Bar Flat, Middle Santa Ynez, and First Crossing.
