Fire danger is low in the Santa Barbara Ranger District. Wood and charcoal campfires are prohibited in front country areas, but allowed at many designated campgrounds and backcountry sites. Always check specific campground rules before you go. Portable stoves are allowed with a valid California Campfire Permit. Target shooting is prohibited except at authorized ranges and for lawful hunting.
