  • Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area: Wilderness Permit required for all visitors; Summit Permit required for individuals above 10,000 ft
  • Groups limited to 10 or fewer individuals in Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area
  • Panther Basin: Dispersed camping prohibited
  • Panther Meadows: Groups limited to 10 or fewer; no entry into bodies of water; no public nudity
  • Lower Ski Bowl Parking Lot: Limited to 3 consecutive nights
  • South Gate Trailhead: Limited to 7 consecutive nights
  • Dogs prohibited in Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area; leashed (6 feet or less) in Panther Meadows
  • Camping must be 100+ feet from streams, lakes, or trails; limited to 7 consecutive nights per 30 days in Mt. Shasta Wilderness
  • Pack stock limited to 10 per group; prohibited overnight in Mt. Shasta Wilderness

Exceptions

  • Persons with valid Wilderness Permit may be in Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area and on trails below 10,000 ft
  • Persons with valid Summit Permit and Wilderness Permit may be above 10,000 ft
  • Federal, State, or local officers and organized rescue/firefighting personnel in official duty
