Fire danger is moderate in the Mt. Shasta Ranger District. Campfires are prohibited in the Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area, and portable stoves require a valid California Campfire Permit. Access to the Mt. Shasta Wilderness Area is restricted with permit and group size limits. Always check current conditions and specific regulations for your intended destination before heading out.

- Camping must be more than 100 feet from streams, lakes, or designated trails
- No dogs permitted
- Pack stock limited to 10 per group; overnight pack stock prohibited

- Organized rescue or fire fighting force in performance of official duty
- Persons with Forest Service Permit FS-7700-48 specifically exempting them
