Shasta-Trinity National Forest Fire Danger & Restrictions
Fire danger is high across most of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, with moderate danger in the Mt. Shasta Wilderness. Campfires are allowed in developed recreation sites, but backcountry campfires are prohibited except at designated sites with a California Campfire Permit. Portable stoves with pressurized liquid fuel are allowed with a permit, but fireworks, explosives, welding, and grinding are prohibited forest-wide. Always check current weather and specific district restrictions before your trip.
