The Elk fire is 90% contained at 7,257 acres, and the High Mesa Piles RX fire is growing. Fire danger is currently low in the Ouray Ranger District. Some roads and trails are closed due to hazards from the Elk fire, so check current conditions before you go. Campfire restrictions may vary, so confirm current rules for your specific location.
