Santa Fe National Forest Fire Danger & Restrictions
The Frijoles Fire is active at 15,547 acres and 79% contained, with a trend of growing but more contained. Some roads, trails, and trailheads on the Española side of the Pecos Wilderness are closed for suppression efforts, and campfires are prohibited at Borrego Mesa Campground. Campfires are allowed on the Pecos-Las Vegas side of the Pecos Wilderness, though Jack's Creek and Panchuela campgrounds are closed for construction. Fire danger is low across the forest, but always check current conditions and specific district restrictions before your trip.
