The McConnell fire is 33,243 acres and 83% contained, while the Calico fire is 18,319 acres and 98% contained. All National Forest lands, roads, and trails in the Santa Rosa Ranger District are closed due to the McConnell Fire. Fire danger is high, and backcountry campfires are prohibited outside developed recreation sites. Campfires are allowed in developed campgrounds, and portable stoves are permitted. Check current conditions before your trip as they can change.
