The GRASSHOPPER fire is 93,990 acres and 93% contained, with a trend toward more containment. Fire danger is high in the Barlow Ranger District, and all campfires and open fires are prohibited in both backcountry and developed campground areas. Propane stoves and portable fire pits with an on/off switch are allowed if cleared of vegetation for three feet. Check for specific road, trail, and recreation site closures within the fire area before your trip.
