Mt. Hood National Forest Fire Danger & Restrictions
Active fires in Mt. Hood National Forest include the GRASSHOPPER fire at 93,990 acres, 93% contained, and the AUSTIN fire at 12,722 acres, 22% contained and growing, along with the THE NARROWS fire at 304 acres, 26% contained and growing. Fire danger is high across the forest, and all campfires and open fires are prohibited in both developed campgrounds and backcountry areas. Propane stoves with an on/off switch are allowed if cleared 3 feet from vegetation, but welding and grinding are prohibited.
