The GRASSHOPPER fire is 93,990 acres and 93% contained, with a trend toward more containment. Fire danger is high in the Hood River Ranger District. All campfires and open fires are prohibited in both backcountry and developed campground areas. Propane stoves and portable fire pits with an on/off switch are allowed if kept at least 3 feet from vegetation. Check for specific road, trail, and recreation site closures before your trip.
