Active fires in the Zigzag Ranger District include GRASSHOPPER (93,990 acres, 93% contained), AUSTIN (12,722 acres, 22% contained and growing), and THE NARROWS (304 acres, 26% contained and growing). Fire danger is high, and all campfires and open fires are prohibited in both backcountry and developed campground areas. Propane stoves and portable fire pits are allowed with specific clearance requirements. Check current conditions and specific regulations before your trip.
