Very high fire danger today.
Fire danger is very high in the Methow Valley Ranger District. All campfires, wood, charcoal, and open flames are prohibited in both developed campgrounds and backcountry areas. Pressurized liquid gas stoves are allowed if used in cleared areas with a functioning on-off valve. Be aware that some trail segments in the Pasayten Wilderness are closed due to the Ptarmigan Fire. Always check the latest weather and specific area restrictions before your trip.

Propane fuel and camp stovesRestricted
Pressurized liquid gas stoves allowed if used in barren/cleared areas within 3 feet and have functioning on-off valve.
Conditions
- Used in areas barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable material within 3 feet
- Must have functioning on-off switch or valve to extinguish fire immediately
- Must meet fire underwriter's specifications for safety

Firearm discharge prohibited except for lawful hunting with valid license.
