Gifford Pinchot National Forest Fire Danger & Restrictions
The Gifford Pinchot National Forest has two active fires: HIGH LAVA at 2,899 acres, discovered July 23 and 63% contained, and BACKBONE at 17 acres, discovered August 5 and 90% contained. Fire danger is very high across the forest, and all campfires are prohibited in backcountry areas and developed campgrounds.
